東京大学制作展Extra 2022 "Emulsion" の会場設計。会場班リーダーとして制作。展示会場である東京大学本郷キャンパス内の情報学環オープンスタジオ「中山未来ファクトリー」における作品の配置計画と空間デザインを主に担当した。
展示会全体のテーマであった”Emulsion”という言葉は「本来混ざり合わないはずの物質が、反発しながらもお互いを受け入れ、共存している状態」を意味する。来場者が多種多様な作品群を滑らかに鑑賞していくことを期待し、エマルジョンの微粒子が分散し、繋がり合うような床面のパターンをデザインした。この床面のパターンは動線や作品鑑賞位置の指示になっており、狭い展示会場内での人々の滞留と流動を共存させる。
また直前まで作品数や形態が定まらないことが予想されたため、現場で臨機応変に対応できるようなデザインとした。
Project for the venue design of “The University of Tokyo iiiExhibition Extra 2022 ‘Emulsion’ ”. I worked as the leader of the venue group, and our main responsibilities were the spatial design and layout of the works in the Open Studio, iii UTokyo, where the exhibition were held.
The word "emulsion," which was the theme of the entire exhibition, means "a state in which materials that are not supposed to mix repel each other, but accept each other and coexist. We designed a floor pattern in which particles of emulsion disperse and connect with each other in the hope that visitors will be able to smoothly view the various artworks. This floor pattern directs the line of flow and the position of the artworks, allowing people to stay and move together in the narrow exhibition space.
Since it was anticipated that the number and form of the works would not be determined until immediately before the exhibition, we designed the floor pattern to be flexible enough.
